Men's softball is big in Ashland ... there are three or four different adult leagues. With the older fellas, you learn to keep an eye on the basepaths. It's never necessarily the double play or stolen base, but the sneaky plays.
This was a race back to second base that the player on the left won, despite the effort of the shortstop showing the ball to the umpire.

Daily Snap: Making a Mural
Pretty cool frame here. Just letting the light and shadows do the work. Love that the colored lights shine through on the canvas.

Daily Snap: Youth softball
This first one ran big on the sports cover, and I swear it has been my most talked about photo of the year. Wherever I go, people tell me how they LOVE it.
I'll take it.
I'll take it.

Gear: Canon 5D Mark III; Sigma 24mm f/1.4 Art
Settings: f/8, 1/400th of a second, ISO 10,000
Story: Snuck in this different type of shot during an outdoor concert. Little lights in the crowd are sparklers given to the spectactors.
