Nice action from Ashland University's game against Findlay yesterday.

Lovely moment from last week. Snapped a portrait of a family who lost their daughter to a congenital heart defect. Just as I was finishing up, these two boys -- unprompted! -- start taping hearts around a photograph of their late sister in a window.

Couldn't pass up that opportunity for a snap. 50mm at f/4.

Daily Snap: Love a good dive

That old sports photography adage: If you can make one sport look like another, you've made a good picture. This is basketball looking something like football. Nothing like a good dive for the ball, and this one came right in my direction. Hefty crop at 12,800 ISO, but the peak action makes up for it, I think.

Daily Snap: Milestone

Local high school hoopster reached 2,000 points last night. Didn't care about catching the basket itself (piece-of-cake layup, turns out), and wanted to catch the walk back upcourt and ensuing celebration with teammates. Setting turned out nicely for this one, and she trotted right into a clean gray spot on the background.

Daily Snap: 12,800 ISO? Why not.

Out of my pure hatred of motion blur, I've been pushing the ISO limits on my 5D Mark III to see how far it'll take me. Here's 12,800.

After a grueling match, an Ashland University wrestler sits in the stairwell (with a trashcan, for ... obvious reasons) during a dual with Case Western Reserve on Wednesday.
